when spring arrives what's better than a weekend at the beach? Lavagna is a small and charming seaside town of the western Ligurian, which lies exactly between Chiavari and Sestri Levante. Lavagna is our destination for relaxing bathing and cycling. Unfortunately, the departure from the city was hurried and prevented us to get ready to bring the bikes, therefore, as soon as we arrived, we immediately looked for a solution to rent bicycles to make our stay more pleasant and easy.

Riding on the snow up to Chamois
There is a mountain village where cars cannot get tehere, both in winter and in summer, and think, it can only be reached either by cableway, on foot or by bike. This village is called Chamois and it is located in Val d'Aosta.

Corsica's finger Tour

Unexpected things are always the best. Alfio and Antonello, friends of my wife propose a weekend with mini cruise in Corsica, we are in autumn, the ferries have few reservations and for several years a group of motorcyclists organizes weekends on the island.

Stunning ride on the ridge between Chisone Valley and Susa Valley
By Paolo Gai with Gabriele Gai
Just a few kilometers from Turin, in Chisone Valley there is the starting point: the Pourrieres hamlet. From Turin we left then Pinerolo and then main road to Sestrieres. Shortly after Fenestrelle you will reach the Cyclist Parking near the Pourrieres hamlet where you park comfortably and where you start climbing to the Colle delle Finestre.

Nico’s New Bicycle Riding Experience on an e-Bike
By Nico de Corato
Translated by Daniel D. Brecht
An incredible series of coincidences has led me, Nico de Corato, for years living in Dubai to celebrate Eid al-Adha, an Islamic "Sacrifice Feast" festival, with two fellow countrymen also residents in the emirate looking for a bit of fun this day: on a bicycle. What offers a unique, indescribable thrill made my fantastic mountain training worthwhile and doing it in the best of ways for the true two-wheel fanatics we are. It was one of the most exclusive bike adventures.

Conca Cialancia and the 13 Lakes
By Paolo Gai
Just a few kilometers from Turin, in the pleasant Val Germanasca you can find an hamlet, Trossieri, the starting point for this pleasant, but not banal, MTB tour to be done only with optimal weather conditions otherwise you may be having to go back on your way badly. From Turin we left for Perosa Argentina from where we take the SP 169 to Prali.

Valchiusella, The Alice's valley
By Toni Farina
In Valchiusella there is Alice (a word that is slippery, with an accent on "A"), a land of wonder. Among the wonders of Alice there are the peat bogs and the two homonymous lakes, large and small. In Valchiusella there is also Alice (flat word, with emphasis on "i"). Alice lives in Rueglio, another country of wonder. Alice in Rueglio knows everyone, and knows everything.

A Spring Sunday and the Borgaro-Lanzo bike-way
Today in my usual Sunday bike ride I met this bike-way that starts in Borgaro Torinese and arrives in Lanzo Torinese. I met the first sign indicating the cycling path in Villanova Canavese, while arriving from Cafasse and I tried to follow them.

Pictures of Venice
Venezia is an unique city, there is nothing similar in the world, only few bad attempt to imitate it. Venice, declared UNESCO World Heritage site, is almost impossible to visit cycling, you need to walk a lot instead, the more you walk the more picturesque corners you can discover. The people say that bikers are not good walkers, maybe it is true, but when walking in Venice it is never a stress. I think Venice deserves a space on CuboViaggiatore, these Panoramic pictures are one of the best memories I have.

The sea with a lot mountains
Liguria from the eyes (and the bike) of Lorenzo
Lorenzo tells us about these two beautiful days riding in Liguria on the hills above Imperia, that in these September days it is almost like "forcing" Lorenzo to take the bike and riding.

Day 1: 2013 September the 3rd
A Lighthouse above the Aurelia Road, picture taken from the second turn of Poggio uphill (famous for the Milano-Sanremo race), I went up together with 2 racer guys from Laigueglia, even if always following their wheels at the end they even compliment me with me with my trekking bike (I call it the "gate") and the age declared on my id.
After arriving on the top they went down toward Sanremo ... (fortunately) while I got back to my normal pace of retired man toward Ceriana that offer a slight and scenic uphill.
View of Ceriana a couple of turns away, the village is very alive because is the destination of many people from Sanremo, it is strange the Tunnel which splits the village.

Colle della Dieta (Col of Diet)
It is not really clear the name of this mountain pass. The Road that connect Mezzenile with ViĂ¹ in the Lanzo Valleys is apparently called "Colle della Dieta" (that literally means the "Diet Col") at least there is a sign just before the peak that in the small town called Monti. The local people here tell that the road has been paved within the latest 2 years.

Make a Wish
The famous "encounters already written in the
destiny" are back. The encounter with Marco while riding to Nevache is bringing good outcomes. Following I would like to post the information received from Marco about a very nice initiative that held place on Sunday June the 30th for the Wish A Mile 2013. Congratulation for the initiative.
By Marco Mazzola
On Sunday June the 30th a riding meeting was organized from Bosconero to Stresa in the occasion of Wish A Mile 2013, an event organized since years in the US and now even in Italy has been adopted. This event is connected to a funding collection in favor of Make a Wish Italia.

Riding in Fukuoka
He's not me!!!
This area of Fukuoka is very strange it is like a mix among fisherman area (fishing boats), residential area (nice small houses), sportive (the baseball dome), modern (skyscrapers) and industrial harbour. Very peculiar.
ÅŒhori Park at the sunset.
On the way to downtown we couldn't avoid a short stop to the Gokoku Shrine. Our attention was draw by this gate. At the entrance of the Gokoku Shrine there is indeed this large shrine gate of 13 meters in height, it is the largest in Japan among the ones made of raw wood.
The good bikes!!

Riding in Kyoto
Not 100% matching but I would like to thank Naoki-san for his kind availability translating my website name. Very much appreciated.
The night I couldn't sleep too much, the jet lag was really strong, so I took the occasion and I went out for an early visiting of the Nishi Honganji temple.

The Hilly area south of Chivasso
This area at Torino doorstep (precisely in the East Part of Torino) offers many possibilities for bikers in both long and short distance ride.
The area is totally hilly and we have to expect continuous uphills and downhills. The vegetation sometimes does not allow to see the landscapes, but when you are at the top of the hills you can enjoy very beautiful landscapes.
Play attention the uphill toward Castagneto Po it is very hard there are some stretches at 14 % inclination.
It is recommended for a lunch break to stop in a nice country side restaurant handled by a family. The place is called Il Tavernone that is located in Vernone as the name leave easily guess.
TRATTORIA BAR IL TAVERNONE
55, Strada Maestra Fr. Vernone 10020 Marentino, Torino. Tel: (011) 943-5091
For another lunch break stopping in Tonengo on the way toward Cocconato it is recommended a trattoria called trattoria Moia, typical Piemontese "Piola" with interesting assortment of starters. The food quantity is also abundant and prices are really reasonable, many people on the web define it as a traditional ancient time place.
RISTORANTE MOIA
Via Cocconato, 12 - 14023 - Tonengo (AT)
